The project is a 7.5km extension of East West Line (EWL) that includes 4 new stations & 26ha maintenance depot, and a road viaduct running parallel to the line. It is to cater for an additional 40,000 passengers daily. The EWL is currently the longest MRT service line (57.2km) and the 2nd major rapid transit service line.
Being delivered as part of the 2008 Tuas West Land Transport Master Plan, the extension was completed in 2016, and started operations from June 2017.
Engaged by the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, we provided construction engineering & supervisory services for the project which includes the construction of the Tuas depot (house 60 trains and a maintenance area), and supervised the construction of one of the elevated MRT stations and preliminary works for future Tuas South extension.
